Sabja seeds, also known as basil seeds or tukmaria, are commonly used in Indian beverages, desserts, and cooling drinks like falooda, sherbets, and lassi. When soaked in water for 10-15 minutes, these tiny black seeds develop a gelatinous coating and swell up significantly, creating a unique texture. They have a very mild, almost neutral flavour with subtle earthy undertones.
